We at Celtic School of English enjoy working together and look forward to welcoming you to our International Family! Anne (Director) is based in the school organising schedules, student accommodation and ensuring that students are happy, promoting the school, and meeting new students and teachers.

Anne O'Keefe

Anne O'Keefe BSc, DELTA

Anne spent nearly four years in Korea where she taught university students of all levels. She has also taught in Europe and Ireland. Anne looks after recruitment & training, syllabus preparation, student accommodation, student assessment (placement & progress) and student Visa & student card requirements. As Director of Celtic School of English, she has developed the school so that she knows every student and strives to help them. She recognises the difficulties students have when learning English and focuses on a student’s weaknesses as well as strengths to help them improve. Anne is an early bird – and can be found running or swimming at the crack of dawn, ready with scones & hot coffee when everyone arrives in the school!
Daniel

Daniel O'Sullivan MA, DELTA

Dan is an experienced exam teacher with a well-developed career in a variety of educational settings. He began his career in Japan where he worked initially at a business- orientated conversation school, and later at the International Relations Department of Nihon University, assisting with TOEFL and IELTS preparation and providing language support. After that Dan returned to the UK and worked at a large residential English language school where he organised, planned and delivered courses for young learners of many different nationalities. Dan is a brilliant musician and can play any string instrument given to him – playing from time to time with his old band The Regatti String Band in the UK, and more regularly TradSoftly.com at home in Kerry.
Deirdre

Deirdre Kearney, BA, DELTA

Deirdre is Senior Teacher at Celtic School of English. She worked in various language schools in Ireland and in France after she completed her teaching degree in Cork before establishing herself as one of the pillars of Celtic School of English. She has a love for languages, music, sport, all things French and of course, baking. We have all enjoyed her homemade scones, blueberry cheesecakes and Victoria sponges. With such varied interests, Deirdre’s classes can be nothing but imaginative and fun as she brings passion and professionalism to every lesson.Deirdre is our exam expert. She advises, creates, produces and monitors lessons and courses for Cambridge exams. Her recent experience of completing her Delta (Cambridge Diploma in English language teaching) has provided her with invaluable skills that she passes onto students with ease. Deirdre is also musical with a great voice and took up the ukulele last year, just to add yet another string to her bow.
Bernie

Bernie McGaley

Bernie is the Office & Operations Manager at Celtic School of English. She earned her BSc in Management from the MTU in 2008. Bernie is the face of our reception and loves to meet and greet all the new students and leaders. She is passionate about her role in the school and strives to ensure that everything runs smoothly. In her free time, Bernie is an avid runner and can be found every Saturday morning at the parkrun.
Anne

Anne Mooney BSc MSc

A zoologist by profession, Anne lived in France for over 20 years where she worked as a toxicologist and also earned a diploma in French. Anne is a people person, she is passionate about teaching and sharing her knowledge . Her interests include tennis, walking, cycling, fashion and all things French!! She helps out on reception and students love her warm, friendly manner.
Peter

Peter Keane BSC, TEFL, HDE

Peter is our Junior Centre Manager and ensures the smooth running of our summer programme. He coordinates the junior activities programme, taking students on exciting excursions and organising sporting and fun activities each afternoon. Peter has been an EFL teacher for many years, having taught in New Zealand and Japan and he is now happily teaching at home in Ireland. Peter has a great rapport with the students and staff and enjoys being part of a vibrant team. ..
Aine

Colin Magnier

Colin teaches our General English and Cambridge Exam classes and can be found here in the school or with our Masters in Nursing students in the MTU. A long serving native of Tralee he is a good source of information for those students eager to acquaint themselves with the town. He joined our team in the summer of 2021 having previously worked with schools in both Cork and Killarney. Possessing a broad range of skills and qualifications he brings a wide mix of topics into the classroom and encourages students to break through their initial fear of speaking English. Students find him a very effective communicator whose classes are fun and easy to follow; explaining complicated grammar structures through their application in fun and engaging conversations.
